Quick news for those promoters: WE HAVE A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT NOW! I made it a few months back, so to promoters AND members, and to anyone that features us in any way, please do well to add our Facebook next to our website and DA on your journals, sites, and the like! Thanks guys!
I've been informed by main unit team member Glenn, that there is a house with odd events just in our neighborhood. I will be talking with him soon, whenever he gets information to us as to whether or not the homeowners would like us to come in.. Rumor has it that the last owners left because they were scared. Apparently no one goes near the house at night, either. And Glenn and his wife Tammie seemed to hear someone inside yelling 'Leave!' just a few nights ago. So, this very likely means that we have another new client on our hands. And some more action, as we haven't been doing much of anything since Halloween.
Which, by the way, we did lots of research for Hillsborough, North Carolina. We also got out flyers all over the historic district of Hillsborough. We made a visit to the Burwell Schoolhouse, which sits on the edge of the historic district. We spent over two hours there, touring the property, asking questions, and so on. If you'd like, I can post the recording I got of everything we were told. Make a quick post in the chat room or email us if you want to hear about anything that went on.. When all was said and done, however, we found that there was no way to get night permissions unless you are staff. Perhaps if we had someone with a tighter connection to a staff there, they could pull a few strings for us. But for the time being, Burwell is definitely on our list of places to visit. Overall paranormal history there, it seems slow from what the staff that gave us the tour told us. She said that it was rumored that one of the family members was sitting on the porch reading the newspaper, and upon reading something that greatly unsettled him, he had a heart attack and died right there.
It was also said that no one was allowed in the building after midnight, and that was on nights that they have events. Usually everyone is gone by nine o'clock, staff can be there until midnight. Though few stay that long. Apparently it can be a creepy place at night, though I found it quite the comforting place to be. She was a very helpful woman, and we did enjoy ourselves and learn much. Though in the end it didn't help us to find a place for an investigation. Perhaps later on we will get a chance when we're heard of a bit more, yes? Well, aside from running around Historic Hillsborough (which I definitely recommend, it truly is a joy to be around people that care so much about the history of their area. When you hear more about what the historic society is there, it makes your heart jump for joy. They truly do an amazing job!) , and much research later, we ended up staying home and watching the Ghost Hunters Live Countdown, watching the live feed online, and eating Halloween county from earlier on that night. xD
Well, hopefully I'll have many a thing to add soon. We of course still have night permissions for both Pineview cemetery and a family cemetery near Mills Branch.. We may already have permissions for Mills Branch Cemetery, but I would like to double check that with Linda Moore later on. I would however like to share with you the email she sent me back in mid-October. The curve she speaks of, I believe it's the one that I walk past constantly! When you're leaving our house and turn left, it's the way I walk. You go uphill just a bit, and then it hits a bridge just above the highway. After going over the bridge, you continue on past two more houses, and there's this very sharp curve where a third house is in the distance. I believe that this is the curve she is speaking about, because it is right there where Meadowbrook and Melton mix. And we live on Melton.. Just. Wow, is all I can say. I knew that I got odd senses there, and that I've seen things from time to time, but I never expected to hear such a thing. :3 Here's the email:
There is a place in Edgecombe County called "dead man's curve" because of the number of accidents that have happened there. I'm not sure where "dead man's curve" is located. It may be that curve from Meadowbrook onto Melton or perhaps at the end of Powell Road and back toward Hwy 43 toward a sharp curve. I'll try to contact an old classmate and see if he can indentify what was referred to as "dead man's curve." When I was in high school I remember it being mentioned frequently.
There is an old 2-story house in Edgecombe County that was built in the late 1800s. I'm not sure of the address - it is on the corner of Bullock School Road and Jenkins Farm Road. (our little cousin goes to Bullock School) From your house, do you know how to get on 43 South like you are going towards Pinetops? Anyway, once you get on 43 South, you pass West Edgecombe Baptist Church, you will come to an intersection with "Moore's Store" I think is the name. Anyway, you turn left onto Bulluck school Road. Go past Bulluck School which will be on your left, and go all the way to the end of the road. At the stop sign I think is Jenkins Farm Road. Look RIGHT, secluded in the trees is a large two-story house. It has two or three barns or outbuildings also. I don't know who the current contact person is for that property, but I do know who used to own it. With a house that old, there is some history on that premises. If you are able to check this premises, please let mknow what you find. (if anything) THEN, I'll tell you what I've been told and we'll compare notes.
Another interesting story is from Nash County. I have heard it said that many years ago, there was a train accident along a stretch of railroad tracks at Momeyer, NC. An engineer was killed. Through the years, several people have reported seeing a light along the tracks - like someone walking and swinging an old lantern. People have tried to locate who was walking, but no one can be found. So the unexplained light is referenced as an engineer making his way along the tracks, looking for his head.
Well, that's only some of the interesting information she's given me about this area. She would make for a great case manager if ever the chance. :3 Okay, well that's all the stuff I've got for you for now. I'll update you soon enough with more details about the house in our neighborhood. There are lots of rumors about the house having creepy happenings in it. And hopefully we can come and ease some tensions for the current owners, who seem to be having recent troubles with them. Happy Thanksgiving to all, hope to update and hear from you all soon!

Extra information about TECPS The East Coast Paranormal Society was established in late 2008 by Laura ***** and Amber ***** , mother and daughter. It was created in the hopes of finding paranormal activity in their area and to help anyone with a paranormal problem where they are. We are still in the beginning stages of becoming a whole society, but we are ready and have the skills we need to do this. We are much like TAPS(The Atlantic Paranormal Society) , who are shown on SciFi's Ghost Hunters. We are all big fans of the show as well. A message from Amber ***** ( Ki ) , a Lead Investigator Hi there. You guys can all call me Ki. I've created this account to show what we do as small-town investigators. And also to spread the word about what we're doing. My mother and I have created TECPS in the shadows of TAPS, who, in our opinion, are the greatest investigators in the world.. We look up to them and hope to one day be able to have such a wide range of areas and such as they do... I've always had a connection to the paranormal and supernatural worlds, for reasons only myself and a few others know. Although I've expanded my 'gifts' as far as they seem to go, I want to go out and use them to help others and prove that there's more to this world than what meets the eye. I want for everyone to know that there is a world of truth and possibilities out there, and I'm not leaving this earth or this universe until I've made that happen. You may think that this page and TECPS is stupid, but we're not gonna care as to whatever you may say about us. We know what can be out there, and I know first-hand what IS out there. And there's more of a world than what most people think there is. As to those of you who are into paranormal or supernatural things, don't turn your back on those beliefs. If you feel like you are, take some time to think and talk to someone who firmly believes to reassure you. And to all who want to be investigators, send us a note and I'll be glad to talk to you some about it. I have investigation experience, as does another of our team members, Glenn. That does remind me: I'm working on making a MySpace page for our group. When I get it up and running, I'll be sure to add you and feature you there as well! I've always loved the paranormal,and have a friend who can sense presence. My uncle and I do our best to watch EVERY Paranormal State and Ghost Hunters episode that comes out....I do have a personal experience from something sitting on the edge of my bed, mostly at night. It's prooved to never be a brother or my mom,nor dad. I don't know if it was one of my cats or my dog,but I beleive in it,though no one else does. I was little,around 8-9 when it happened in Kansas,and it just happened in my new house.It's probrably nothing,but,hey...beleive what you beleive,no? So,overall,please let me join, I'm young but can still help....Thx

We don't have a unit in Oklohoma yet, no. But we're open to units everywhere. Your friend and I have a gift in common. How long has she known about her gift? You should have her email or note us and we can talk. :3
If you do join, please be absolutely sure that you want to be a TEAM member. If you know that you won't be able to take the time out to do things with or for your unit, or you feel that there might be things ahead for you that will cause you to have no time for TECPS, do rethink, and just become a regular member. You can always become a team member later on when it's better for you.
Since we don't have a unit, it'll have to be up to you to gather at least four or five members. A Lead Investigator, a Tech Manager, a Case Manager, and just regular investigators. If you think you're up to it, and can prove to me that you can handle the lead, you can be the Lead Investigator for your unit. But if you don't think that you'll be able to, or be able to keep up with the branch site I make for your unit, and take care of things, then let me know. It will all be up to you for now, though, as to who will join. And when I've spoken to them, and they know that they're in it for the long-run as well, and you've told me about all of them, you and I will decide who will do what. And we'll speak with the others about it to see what they think.
Just head on over to the "Becoming A Member" section, and do the application there. I'm still working on a "Becoming A Team Member" section, and an application for it. So for now, we have to stick to that...
